2026 - Kestrels in Entre-deux-Eaux

Various photographs and videos of kestrel nest activity at our house in the Vosges, France

The kestrels first nested here in 2021. Kestrels returned in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025; they successfully raised chicks in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025.
On 20 March 2024 the female had a two-hour fight with a young female (see video). In April the female started laying but a visiting young male caused problems. Eventually a record 11 eggs were laid! The female continued sitting on the eggs intermittently but no eggs hatched and the female left on 28 June
